Responsibilities:
- Delivery of ICT services and training within the organisation.
- Defining policies, strategies and procedures relating to ICT.
- Focus on continual review and improvement of ICT service with diminishing resource.
- Advising senior staff on ICT.
- Management of third party suppliers, contractors and temporary staff.
Description:
Working with a primarily Microsoft/Dell infrastructure (with some Linux, VM and OpenSource solutions) hosted on site delivering ICT services. Services delivered include e-mail (MS Exchange), data storage (NAS, MS SQL Server), collaboration (MOSS 2007), PCs (laptop, desktop), telephony (mobile, Alcatel Omnivista 4760, iPhone, MS Windows mobile, Symbian, Android, 3G cards/dongles) client server applications (Sage Line 500, Cintra, QlikView) and client applications (MS Office 2007, Skype, Mind Manager).
Supported analysts and trainers in both technical and management aspects of work. This also included providing support for partners from across the HE sector for HEA systems access, on site workshops and at the Academy’s annual conference.
Skill Set:
- ICT support, delivery and development - ITIL, PRINCE2, MSP.
- Management of infrastructure - Active Directory, MS SQL Server, MS Exchange, MOSS 2007, network switches, firewalls, WiFi.
- Applications support and training - MS Office 2007 (ECDL) {including VISIO, Publisher}, Skype, Mindjet Mind Manager, Sage Line 500, Integra, Cintra, QlikView, Snowdrop, Instant Presenter), additional niche applications.
- Peripherals - Polycom video conferencing equipment, data projectors, audio conferencing (telephone/Skype), MFD, HP printers, MIMIO, web/video/still cameras.
- Automation - scripting, etc.
- Executive coaching, managing difficult situations, negotiating, line management.
- Presentations.
- Documentation and training (end user and technical).
